Evening all,
Heading to Wales in a couple of weeks and will be going to Brechfa for the first time and i'm wondering which is the better trail out of the Raven and the Gorlech?
Ideally i'd like to do both but i know the rider i'm taking with me won't have the legs to do both. I was thinking of heading to Cwm Rhaeadr first for a lap of the short trail there which i've heard is good fun and then to Brechfa for the afternoon before heading to Glyncorrwg to camp and then do White's before heading home.
Cheers in advance,
Steve

If you only plan on one and coming from cwm rhyader, then try the gorlech, imo

As above, then re-ride the final descent.

Gorlech had a few diversions in place last weekend when I rode it due to forestry work. Some nice parts of singletrack were closed.
Watch the final descent too as there's a great big tree at about handlebar height across the trail. Its a very fast descent and I only just stopped in time.

Cwm Rhaeadr is a cracker of a short loop though. Worth a few laps for sure.

I'd much rather do this, than ride Gorlech, which is still the pick of the two at Brechfa. In my opinion, of course.

Looking pretty conclusive then! Gorlech it is, hugor - thanks for the heads up on the current state of play - i'll definately keep my eyes peeled on the final descent.
Does anyone know roughly how long a drive it is to Brechfa from Cwm Rhaeadr?
Thanks very much.

15 miles takes about 30 minutes due to it mainly being on single carriage way blind winding roads.

Half hour is about right. Maybe 40 minutes as you won't know the roads.

one trail - gorlech
but if you a little time left over, I'd strongly recommend a quick blast around the green/blue. Nothing particualy challenging but really good fun when ridden at speed. A very well designed trail.
