A Peak ride tomorrow has me leaving the house at 7.30am - I could do with scoffing brekky en-route - I pass a few services that have MuckDonalds and at Chesterfield - anyone been to any of these of late and are there crazy queues? Really want to go to that lovely bakery in Hathersage as their cobs are ace but can’t find out if they’re open. First world problems I know but anything more appealing than porridge at 7am! 😬

Booths Coffee Shop, Lower Pilsley, around 7 minutes from Junc. 29. Just a short detour if you are going through Chesterfield to the High Peak.
Paul is a cyclist, and, obviously, has been struggling during this lockdown.
The cafe opens at 9am for takeaway only, if you ring in advance, or this afternoon, I think he'll get you sorted for a 8.30 takeaway on a Saturday.

Just have it before you go. I'm not sure I would be joining masses of others at the moment.

Live in Chesterfield for my sins. As far as I'm aware only a small number of places are open for takeaway and generally require pre-ordering. McDonald's drive through opened up this week and the queues were stupid when I ran past it. Image below shows them queueing all the way around the cinema.

Jeffl - I once slipped on fresh seagull deposit in that car park and doused a renault clio in a large latte, did a poor attempt at a handstand and landed in said deposit. The girl and her mate in the car got a shock, I was off the bike for 2 months.

rascal - I drove from London to Newcastle yesterday and not many of the services have McD's open, there was a KFC open at Tibshelf and it wasnt serving tea or coffee. I dont touch the food but there wasnt a lot going on southbound on the M1 when I went south on Monday either.

That Booths coffee shop sounds like a good idea.

Slight nicer than McDonalds - this place has been open quite a lot early in the morning:
