Need some new ones for Shimano SLX / XT , Superstar have been out of stock for months . I E Mailed them today , apparently they've got no idea when they'll have new stock as they are redesigning their range ? Genuine Shimano's are £7.50 from CRC or Halfrauds , I have got them from H on a buy 2 pair get another pair free promo but they seem to have got wiseo to that ! So apart from genuine ones what else ?

I'd just get the Shimano if they're only £7.50.

They were a bit better than Superstar or Uber resin pads IMO.

Would anyone recommend the Uber Race Matrix for SRAM Guides? (sorry to hijack) I need something with a little more 'bite' and less noise (esp. when wet), but don't want to shell out for some Hopes... (not yet, anyway)

I just put Uber RM in my Guide RSs. Happy so far, but I know I like the compound.

I have Zee's - Shimano's own sintered are by far the best pads available.

Uberbike race matrix

They were a noticeable improvement on my TRP Spyres, not tried anything else but the original pads on those though.

I've found the race matrix good. Marginally prefer them to shimano sintered

Used SS, Uber and Rahox over the last few years and now gone back to standard Shimano as they last longer and dont squeal anywhere near as much as the others when wet.

Genuine Shimano, resin in one side, sintered/metalic in the other side!

best of both worlds, no squeal, works cold and wet and when hot too 😆

I actually really liked the racematrixes for normal use but they absolutely shat the bed in the alps, just horrible- both sets went incredibly inconsistent. Threw them in the bin and I never throw <anything> in the bin til it's worn out.

Just trying some very cheap Clarks I got, so far so good. But I think chances are I'll switch to uber kevlars (on the assumption it's the exact same pad Superstar and Disco sell)

Never had a problem with the race matrix pads. We used them all year round in the Peak and also in the Alps. Just stocked up when they were on offer

Race Matrix here. Absolute perfect even on massive long alpine descents, not pootling round a trail centre. Long lasting too and consistent performance throughout their lifespan
