I have sintered pads in my XT brakes and are they are casuing a lot of noise and juddering up through the bike. This is from both the front and rear wheels. I haev tried Aztec rotors and hope floating saw tooth and shimanos own ones but it still happens so i have come to the conclusion that it is the pads. I have tried another set of sintered ones today but they are just as bad so iam thinking that it is the pad compound being so hard that is causing it, though on there side they really don't wear in bad weather.
What pads to people like using in their XT's?

Got big rotors? ride gently or gently dragging of brakes? glazing is the usual cause of what you have IMO

What pads? go back to OE

Sand the discs down and pads down

it does sound like glazing to me

I use sintered on the tandem and they do glaze sometimes - giving exactly the symptoms you describe . get rid of the glaze and they are fine again

I am going to try and find the half worn set f originals that came with the brakes to see if they are ny better. It only seems to have happened with the warmer weather. I can see where you are coming from and it would support my thoughts on them being to hard. I have just looked at the vid i took today and don't think that i drag my brakes in fact i think that i no brake later than i used to.

Not enough dirt / mud to sand the glaze off i suspect. As TJ says a quick sandpapering will sort it.
