Hi ,

where would I find replacement races for ht2 bottom brackets? Is it an easy job to do, or do you need a puller?

This is quite easy to do .If it's a Shimano bracket you need to keep the plastic top hats. They are brittle and need a bit of heat to stop them breaking.I run the cup under the hot tap and push them out from the inside using a rounded kitchen knife .The bearing comes out with a sharp tap from the inside with a screwdriver or small cold chisel. To refit the bearings I used my homemade headset press witj the flat faces inwards on the cup and bearing to wind it into the cup .Then put the top hat back in ,job done.I think the bearing code is 6085

Nearly right above^ - bearing no. is 6805. You can get them on ebay if you dont have a bearing supplier local.

The bearings can be 6805 2RS or 61805 2RS.

Check if the bearing you take out is 6mm or 7mm deep. If it's 6mm a standard 6805 (7mm) won't fit correctly and the plastic "top hats" will stick out.
