Can Shimano BH90 hose be used to replace BH80? I think it can't as it's a smaller internal diameter meaning I'm stuck buying goodridge. Having said that I'm far from the most knowledgeable home mechanic.  This is to fit some Saint M810 Brakes BTW.

I was under the imoimpress that the new hose could be used in place if the old  but not vise versa. With the correct insert and olive od course.

I read the same, then the next poster said it's a thinner diameter so the levers might feel funny.

it’s a thinner diameter so the levers might feel funny.

As long as it seals at either end and fluid can pass through, the diameter shouldn't make any difference. If one is more elastic (i.e. expands more under pressure), that could give a softer feel at the lever, but that's nothing to do with the diameter.

Done a bit more reading and I think BH90 is a bit stiffer so should avoid expansion, so can be used as long as I use the correct olives etc.  Any mechanics confirm?
