[Closed] Bolt through not releasing??

The 20mm bolt through on my revelations is not coming out meaning that my front wheel is stuck. It is turning and unthreading on the non driveside of the bike but isn't releasing from the other. Anyone had this problem and have any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.

might just be a tight fit. try drifting it out with a 8mm allen key

Had that problem with some Pikes. Big rubber mallet sorted it

As Tracey says. I've had similar troubles with a Boxxer, it can mostly be attributed to Maxles being a bit shite

Had one seize on some Pikes, years ago. Wooden mallet got it out. Always make sure they are greased now.

I've had that, but with a maxle, so guess you could try the same. If you don't keep the thread and the non threaded side clean and greased, they can sieze.

Anyway, this is how I got it out.

1. used a tie down ratchet strap wrapped around the fork lowers as close to the bolt through as possible to stop the legs pushing apart

2. Tried to undo the Maxle - no joy (step one prevented any worrying leg splaying

3. Undid what I could as far as I could

4. Poured boiling water on the lowers

5. Rubber Mallet applied swiftly to Maxle (the ratchet strap really helped keep things solid here.

6. removed the now unstuck maxle.

7. Cleaned & greased everything!

Tried the mallet but can't see where to hit it, and obviously having spent so much on the forks just a couple of months ago, I am reluctant to smash it!

put allen key in the threaded side of the fork, so the bit of the allen key is resting on the maxle. Tap the allen key

Lightly loosen all the relevant bolts and go for a spin up the street bouncing up and down as many kerbs as possible. It'll likely free itself on its own. I did this on my 36's when I had the same issue.
