Looking at buying a blu-ray player. Will probably buy a Sony 480, but what are the samsungs like? Currently have a720 tv, but have half an eye on a new 3d capable tv. The Sony does well in reviews and things Like media streaming and YouTube, iplayer. However I've seen a Samsung that also has 2.1 sound speakers and that really appeals.
Are the samsungs any good?
Also does it have to be same brand for the 3d?

I did by a Samsung hdd and DVD recorder when I bought the current Samsung tv. The playback off either format was horrific, I managed to send it back and pay the extra for the Sony.
Cheers for the links. That Sony looks alright. Peter, is the tv ok when playing DVD/blu-ray and freeview? We don't have sky or virgin so that's not a problem.
