We will be in touch
Am lucky enough to have a night in the Brecons this week planned.
We are planning to ride the MBR Black mountains route (thx Alex for the route) on the Thursday and the Gap on the Friday. Seeing as the forecast is for 28c on the Thursday, am looking for a slightly shorter Black mountains route, found the Lord Herefords knob route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36828685 which looks good but any other routes anybody could recommend, would be ace.
Any ideas?
How long?
How much cheekiness?
Will you be using a car to get to the start?
About 15miles
Up for any cheeky routes
Yes will be using a car.
Thanks
Plenty of options (as someone who looks up Lord Herefords Knob from my kitchen window!). We did a nice loop yesterday with a swim in the reservoir. Twas lovely and warm. Kind of depends how tough & technical you want it to be. PLenty of long fast ridges to ride, so long as you don't mind bunny hopping over drainage ditches. Loads of cheeky descents whihc add spice to the routes. Unfortunately the bracken at the moment makes many of the best lines impractical/impossible. But tell me now tough you want it to be and I can suggest some loops which won't be on any maps but will certainly be worthwhile and won't get you into trouble.
Thanks Welshfarmer.
Not as tough in terms of steep climbs as the black killer loop that's for sure, needs to minimise a pushup as all the routes I've planned involve Y Das upwards!
OK I can point you to a nice run. I will pm you later
Awesome, currently planning to ride this route https://www.theswanseabay.co.uk/2019/07/31/the-black-mountains/
