Looking to rent an ebike for my son who’s visiting from Oz - quoted £120 for a 3 hour afternoon ride! Apparently there’s no longer discounts for guides either, despite putting plenty of rentals and even a few bike sales in their direction. I know I won’t change anything but it’s £88 at Whinlatter, so we’ll head north. So much for the friendly Grizedale MTB days!
That is bonkers. I’m sure i paid much less than that from them summer 2024.
Dales mtb centre is £75 for a hardtail £110 for an fs. I got an orange phase mx. Those prices are for the day
I rented a norco FS from them earlier this year. Nice bike and friendly service.
We hired from them a couple of years ago and the lakes were super cheap, but I think someone hired the whole fleet and never returned them so the prices have gone up a lot.
Sonder rent bikes out in the Lakes, they have locations in Ambleside and Keswick and they charge £49 per day but also do weekend and weekly rates
You are limited to Sonder brand bikes though, so if you wanted a selection of brands to choose from, they won't be much use to you. Sonder bikes are generally great though
Well Biketreks were never known to be cheap, but blimey
Total adventure in windermere do e full suspension Scott's for £69.00 a day.
Good to know, cheers
Ive never used the hire bikes at Kielder, but I use the shop in Gateshead and its good value.
I got a nice spec Occam in 2022 for 60 quid 9.30-14.30. They even gave me some off piste recommendations.
Isn't that price for a full day, which is up to 6 hours? If you only want it for 3, that's fine, but it doesn't change the workload for the shop.
Will need setup in the first instance, explain the controls, etc. Then need cleaned, lubed, re-charged, etc.
Not saying £120 isn't a lot but saying it's £120 for 3 hours is a little misleading. You could get an e hardtail or regular full sus for £65 for the day.
