Wondering what tools the bike mechs use for frame bearings here?
Obviously some are blind (bearings not mechanics!), and some manufacturers (eg Santa Cruz) make their own tool, but it seems a bit excessive to buy a kit for every bike and the SC tool only works on 7900's (I think).
I don't fancy using a slide hammer or drifting bearings out on expensive carbon frames. I'd far sooner pull them out properly if possible.
I see most blind pullers advertised are slide type but even the leg type makes me a bit squeemish.
Are there any hidden gems around that I haven't seen? Moon on a stick?
Thanks!
my mate (LBS Owner) has about 4 sets, the spec FSR kit works well for a lot. Few others along side.

I have the giant maestro service kit for Giant Frames. Used to have access to bearing pullers where I used to work, not anymore so have had to buy my own.
I've used the superstar one and it's not bad, certainly better than using a rusty hammer.
Superstar ones for me. Work perfectly and make the job so easy. I also have their blind bearing puller which I got in the sale last year and it's a great bit of kit.
That FSR kie looks brilliant, also doesn't appear to be available to us plebs!
I had also seen those Sir HC, I have a (rather nice) press, so I just need a puller. I don't think any of those will pull blind bearings?
Ideally I'd like one with the expanding jaws and a cup type support. Like the BB30 tools but with jaws instead of a plate;

Or a couple of the SC ones in different sizes.
Is that Superstar kit suitable to remove hub bearings as well?
Yep, use one to remove Pro2 Evo bearings.
the FSR kit was made in small numbers (globally), it was very expensive and from my experience using several kits, made out of something resembling cheese! It also didn't fit some of the newer FSR bikes!
there are great bearing puller kits out there from Wheels Manufacturing, etc. as well as mainstream automotive / engineering suppliers
