I'm thinking about adding a remote switch to one of my converted Lumicycles, but am struggling to come up with a suitable connector.

I'd like to use something other than a 2.5mm connector to avoid the possibility of getting it confused with the power connector.

Needs to be as small as possible, and ideally waterproof. I'd also consider an in-line connector on small lead.

Any suggestions? Rummaging around on RS/Rapid/Maplin hasn't turned up any obvious options.

in terms of the connector , whynot just useanother 2.5mm connector, but swap the male / female side of it so that you cant mix up the power / switch end.

I've got a couple of old cateye RC220/230 bar mountswitches - you could have one for postage. http://www2.cateye.com/uk/product_detail/95 could probably sort out some cable with appropriate connectors on it too.

wwaswas - thanks for the offer, but it's for my road bike and I'm planning a little push button switch hidden under the hoods of the STI levers. I was actually wondering about getting a flight deck switch and wiring into that, but they're silly money.

fisha - yep, that would work if I go down the route of an inline connector.
