I'm looking at hiring a bike in Chamonix this summer. Hire company websites state that I will be responsible for insuring the bike while in my possession and will have to pay the full value of the bike if it is stolen.
I can't find any travel insurance that will cover the hire bike if stolen.
Any suggestions?

Buy a s/h bike in the UK, sell it when you get back.
