[Closed] Bike Carrier for (*shudder*) Nissan Qashqai

Parents unwisely bought a Qashqai for ferrying bikes around in only to find it's a bit crap for it and, instead of correcting their error, are attempting to find solutions to deal with it. Folding bikes has been an expensive non-solution, so now they're after a bike rack.

Rather than leave them to the mercy of whoever sees them first at Halfords, are there any particularly suitable for this hulk of a car?

I had one of these for a few years and fitted Thule roof bars. The model I had, had the door seal stuck to the car body (as opposed to being on the door like most cars...) this meant I had to cut a 3" slot between the door seal and the car body and slot the foot pack through the gap as the foot pack would not fit over the seal. Also used a halfords rear mount rack but this this did leave 2 small dents in the boot lid spoiler where the metal buckles rested, luckily Arnold Shark didn't notice either when I came to trade it in ๐Ÿ˜ณ

How many bikes are they trying to fit in?

Seats up/down?

We get two in the back easily, a wagonwheeler and a long travel 27.5

Usually take the front wheel off to make them less unwieldy.

Where are you based? Ive got a halfords 3 bike carrier you could try for size.

Cheers for the offer stinks; I'm between Leicester/Bham/Thatcham depending on the day of the week - trying it out could be good, but just knowing the model would help. Edit: Is it tow-bar mounted etc.?

Seats down, but ideally they'd like to keep the wheels on (brake blocks) and the lip on the boot means they don't trundle in & out as well as say a galaxy which I *may* have pointed out works well for this purpose :/ They're in their 70s & the bikes aren't the lightest so anything that m,akes it slightly awkward is a bit magnified.

Towbar and Thule rack on that. Simples, solid, easy. Not cheap.
