Bike bag for long bikes?

Finally taking the plunge to go 29er and XXL. Flip of that is that my existing Evoc bike big will just not fit my soon to be new bike. I've had a look at a new Evoc bike bag and the new pro version seems to be the best for long bikes but it is a whole 1cm too short compared to the wheelbase of my new bike (131cm vs 130cm).

Any recommendations for something as good as an Evoc bag but a little bit longer?

Remove the shock?

Not my bike, but this is an XL Geometron G1 with 1347mm wheelbase in an Evoc Pro bag.

Hadn't thought of that. Fair point. Might be a bit worried about the top pivot ****ting the down tube but some pipe insulation would sort that. Hmm.

I also recently took an XL Geometron G1 away in the evoc bike bag pro.
Didn't remove the shock but rotated the forks 180 and let the air out. It also fits onto the integrated frame thingy this way around.

Yeah I'd be padding anywhere where stuff can rub. Also remove the rear mech, and remove air from the forks to compress them down if needed.

You can also turn the bars/stem 180 so the forks are reversed, gives a few more cm.

Good to know for future reference 👍

Large Geometron G16 in a standard Evoc bag.
Shock removed and coil fork compressed with a toe clip strap through the brace and over the crown.

We squeeze the extra cm out of our Evoc bag.

My L G1 is in an Evoc Pro right now, and I am massively intrigued by the pic above where the bike still has pedals on

Forks rotated as above meant my L RocketMax fitted in the standard evoc bag which is apparently too short for it

29er wheels with tyres were a tight fit in the wheel compartments though!
