Going camping for the weekend near Ashbourne and was wounding if anyone knew any good rides nearish?
road or mtb? how long will you have and how far are you willing to drive?
Mountain! hate riding on the road it dangerous. willing to travel 30 min in the car. looking for around 20-30k or 500 to 1000 meter of climb. Thanks Iain Bakewell could work, looks like quite a bit of road tho?

yes the 5 dales would suit as fatty suggests, google maps reckons 25 mins to youlgreave to pick up that route.
Wirksworth is not too far away, so Black Rocks, Ryber Castle, Chrich Woods and Ambergate are all doable linking them all together via the canal. Though not obvious trails.
There is a lot around Carsington too I believe but never ridden them, but might be worth a google.
Best ride near Ashbourne needs to link Virgins Alley and Lady Hole Lane.....
