We are in the process of creating downloadable files for camping guests to download before coming to stay.
I am using bikehike to draw up the routes, but there are 6 options for creating the files.
tcx, txt, kml, gpx route, gpx track or gpxx route.
which one is the best to use ?
Thanks in advance
I use Garmin GPS bike/hand held units and find the best format is plain gpx which I believe is the same as gpx track as used on gpsies.com to download routes.
I think gpx is the universal format and virtually everything can read them.
Agree with above.
Definately gpx.
gpx track.
gpx route may have limits on number of routepoints on most devices (my old garmin was 50, new one much higher)
although within a single gpx file you could feasibly have the gpx track *and* put in a handful of waypoints (eg handy pubs, bike shop, home base, etc.)
