Bertschat heated gloves

Anyone have any experience of these for road use? They look good but are expensive but would be willing to buy if they help with my frozen hands which get worse with each passing year. Currently using Castelli Estremo with a silk liner which were fine last couple of years but no longer do the trick.

I just purchased a pair of their cycling gloves. I've only used them for one all day ride over the weekend, so far so good! It wasn't that cold, I initially used my old non-heated gloves and soon realised it was cold enough for the Bertschat gloves. The worked very nicely and even when I warmed up abit, the option to only have the back of your hand heated is a nice feature. I was using them for DH/enduro tracks on an ebike in filthy conditions, so they had a good hammering.
Due to ordering different sizes, (they seem to size up one size small), I ended up with one pair with the small and largest battery. I was worried the larger battery would be annoying. I tested the battery life of the small battery and it lasted less than advertised, at 5hrs in low mode, so I decided to go with the larger battery. I could see that battery life being too short in higher modes and after some degradation. It turned out the bigger heavier battery wasn’t annoying while riding. It does flap about on rough terrain, but it’s not uncomfortable.
Only downsides so far are they seem a little hard to put on mid ride, maybe alittle moisture/sweat affects the material and also they can’t be washed! Mine were fully mud caked on the first ride, but I think if you dry them out well it’ll be ok. Obviously you can use the heating power to dry them out very quickly!

Thanks for that, useful info. I'm currently dithering between the cycling specific pro dual (better grip?) and the pro dual which seems to have better insulation although both are the same price.

The cycling gloves are almost good enough for 5 degrees with them off. I think they'd be fine down to - 5 on the low power mode only.

I had my first ride with Bertschat bicycle gloves pro dual heating earlier. Left the house at 7 am, 3 hour road ride and  3 degrees with a hard frost, bloody cold . I suffer badly with cold hands so had the gloves on the medium setting and my hands were lovely and warm. I ordered the smallest battery but they were out of stock so supplied the medium battery for the same price .

@Burchy1 - Those gloves don't include a power source. They're aimed at delivery drivers on ebikes who'll plug it in to a USB outlet.

The sealskins ones get wet on the outside and heavy it then advises not to use them wet sadly

Yeah, since read that.

I have a pair of non heated Sealskinz 'waterproof' gloves and they aren't waterproof in the slightest

Are the Bertschat gloves waterproof as well as heated?

Yes, can testify to that after first ride with them yesterday. 3 hours on the road one of which was in heavy rain, on the outside they were a bit soggy but inside bone dry.

I have some Dr. Warm ones off of Amazon but I've not ridden when it's been cold enough to warrant wearing them yet. They're washable though which would be a requirement for me, they get warm very quickly to (and are surprisingly hot on the high setting) when tested indoors.

I think the main downside (assuming they turn out to be reliable) is the battery sits on the top of the wrist. It already feels a bit annoying just having them on with the battery weight partly on my wrist bone but I imagine it would be crap on anything but smooth road rides if it ends up bouncing up and down. Those Bertschat ones with the battery under the wrist looks a much better idea
