Hi,
I've just picked up a cx frame that has a bb386 evo bottom bracket shell. Its fitted with a DUB BB.
I want to fit my XTR chainset to it.
In my head I need some simple adapters that reduce the hole from 29mm to 24mm. It seems like one or two places sell them, but they aren't in the UK.
Is there any reason why this won't work? I'm not sure about the axle length?
If I have to spend $25+ on the $15 adapters from the USA i may as well buy an eg token or rotor BB for £45 odd and have a new bottom bracket in the bargain.
Any reasons this won't work? A proper BB with built in adapter seems like it will be less creak prone!
Speaking from experience, using an MTB chainset on an CX bike doesn't feel right. It can be done with spacers etc, but nothing like using the right parts for the job.
The axle length of the XTR will be wider than the cx frame BB.
Thanks.
Lots of options but not much availability!
I just bought a Force 1 crankset on ebay thinking it was dub but its GXP!
