I've been riding for years with carbon low riser bars at 26 inches on a medium frame. Just picked up a new hardtail, 19 inch frame with 27 inch bars. The difference seems considerable and I've bumped a few obstacles that normally I would sail by. Is it simply the extra bar width (which at ony 1 inch seems unlikely) or the slightly different style of steering that would cause this? Any observations on the relative benefits of different bar widths would be gratefully received.

could be due to different geometry or twitchiness due to new bike
