Right, this is probably a stupid question, but here goes.
Looking at a gravel bike for winter road, touring, gravel and maybe a bit of CX. Looking for a complete bike since it's via cycle to work.
Everything seems to be 1x in my price range, except perhaps the Canyon Grizl. So, if I bought something with AXS rival, can it be made to talk to a AXS front mech down the line, or is it 1X only. Still undecided on 1X for bikepacking and road use so would be nice to have the option. The AXS levers at least have two paddles, unlike the mechanical.

Just the one paddle on my AXS levers - you hot both at the same time for front mech/dropper

Aye - meant one paddle on each lever, as per the 2x etap system. The 1x mechanical only has a shift paddle on the right meaning to switch to 2x you'd have to buy new levers too.
