Changed the rear rotor today to 185mm G3 Avid from 160mm G2 avid on my juicy seven, using of course the correct adaptor.
Cannot eliminate rubbing - tried the usual adjustment tricks loosening bolts holding the brake on while tightening / inserting business cards / pad spacer
Any ideas - is it wider than a G2?

It will be wider than the used rotor it replaces. Are the pistons fully retracted before you try and set it up?
