Hi all, a couple of us are coming up to Bristol on 24th march, we were going to ride the new trails at Ashton Court but I have been told it will be packed and not worth it (driving up from Devon)
Any comments from locals?

its probably not worth a drive from Devon specifically, but if you are coming to Bristol anyway its definilty worth it. i would take in both Ashton Court and Leigh Woods as the total combined route is about 10 miles.

yeah it's busy, but you never really come accross people on the trails as they are broken up into sections and you tend to stop between sections

cheers prof, we will be driving up for the day but might stay at my brothers on the Friday night then do it early in the morning when it's quiet then maybe drive up to FOD. Are you local? Is there much there apart from the oficial trails? My brother lives in Bristol, he doesn't really ride but I think some of his mates might so I might try to get him to arrange a guide.....

Plenty of unofficial stuff in and around the new trails, but most of it's a boggy mess. If you're coming up from Devon, you could stop off at the Mendips (head for Burrington, off the A38 north of Cheddar) - some good riding there.

k thanks ransos, don't want to ruin someones trails if they are already boggy, maybe the weather will dry them out in the next couple of weeks and I can try here or my brother for a guide ๐Ÿ˜€ if not will be the Quantocks or FOD in the pm.........

Not a local but was there for the first time last Saturday, Leigh Woods as well.

Didn't find it busy, people were very pleasant and courteous but this was on blue trails only.

It's not too busy as it's not properly summer yet ๐Ÿ™‚

There's plenty of riding but you'd really need a local to show you unless you want to just stick to the new trails which are good but as said, not in themselves worth the drive from Devon.

Has to be combined with a trip to the Quantocks, then it is defo worth a visit. I've been riding AC and LW in the winter but will return to the Quantock's next month, oh how I have missed them!

Mendips are meant to be decent though. FoD is probably a bit too far but if you want to go on that way then Cwncarn is worth thinking about too as it's about the same distance from Bristol.

Go to FOD or Cwmcarn on the Saturday, ride AC and LW Friday night with lights if you've got them, it'll be empty then.
