no just lolled as we had come up and he spent an age posturing at the top telling another group how he could piss it on any bike, then went down less than gracefully on a DH bike in full armour, whilst the lad in his group on a hardtail loked very smooth and was quiet.

Anyhow stop being such a sanctimoneous bunch of [s]middle aged it men[/s] cocks

I guess it just upsets us to see those at the very peak of the sport belittling other riders

Ch I'm quite comfortable with myself. So much so that I don't feel the need to ridicule other people.
Light heart piss taking is cool, but the bloke was probably having a great time so why try to belittle him? There is plenty to take the piss out of without ruining your karma.

The armour wearing is the minor part of the piss take, joiner will hopefully be along to put this in to its place/context

I wasnt aware that you were the riding police. Suddenly everything becomes clear.

Am I ok to go and ride my Bianchi road bike wearing sidi mtb shoes, baggy non-cycling shorts, helmet without a visor and a t-shirt with TJ?

i've ridden the beast on my cove stiffee, and sooner or later will no doubt ride it on my 6" travel norco bouncy bike too. and i'll have just as much fun doing so. i've got mates who ride it on DH bikes sometimes, and they have a laugh doing so.
tbh mate, why would you care? if someone's out riding THEIR bike, having fun doing so, then that's all that really matters here.
so many people on here treat life like a bloody competition; just live yours the way you want to and leave others to do the same.

some people are missing the piss take point, its the fact he had full body armour, a DH bike, spent 10 minutes telling all and sundry how good he was and that he could ride down on anything and anyones bike at speed, and then when it came to his turn (1st there and 10th down) he was slower than 90% of the 12 riders - most of whom were on 100mm hardtails

I'm not missing the point... I get it... if they have a camera to film there awesomeness then all the better... but surely you should have said something to his face?

At the very least you should have openly rolled around on the floor laughing in front of him.

Now, I have a question...

Are those that are really concerned with telling everyone else on the trails how awesome they are, really having that much fun? Do they believe their hype or fully away that they're talking s h one t?

TSY- you do have a point. i suppose it's all a little bit elbry (ha!), but yeah. personally, i know i'm not the fastest down (or especially up) trails but even if i was i'd never dream of mouthing off about it.
then again, if i witnessed someone else doing so, i'd probably just have a little smile about it, then forget it and go about my business...

He could ride down there at speed but decided not to as he had a long way to go and had chosen the wrong bike for the trip so didnt want to knacker himself out.

Or maybe he recognised you and thought "ah, that the prat off the forum, lets see if i can wind him up"

Plus, i'm often the last up the his and the first to set off down. does that make me super rad if the opposite makes him mock worthy?

Don - It was probably me, but I'm actually way too awesome to realise so I'm just going to take the piss too.

Plus someone has said I made a valid point... and it's not even my birthday.

whilst I dislike finding nobs on the trails, if you constantly go to trail centres, they will be there. I think you were pissed off at the cars (or pickups) people turned up to canock in last time weren't you?
What does it matter? You ride a heckler on groomed trails that a single speed fully rigid could cope with. It doesn't matter, it's your CHOICE to do so. Other people have made theirs as well. Live and let Live?

quite possibly because they are mostly on here, i know my limitattions as do my riding mates. The amount of cocks that will stick up for something no matter what is really quite amusing - seems we have many that feature strongly on the autistic spectrum/have no sense of humour/are pious beyond belief/do not understand irony/have beenpicked on and bullied at school and use the web to fight back *delete as appropriate
