Just wondering as they seem to have the same part number excluding post mount.

I have a front one and now bought a rear but can't find the bloody front one to compare and can't find part numbers on shimano's site.
Ah seen the shiamano pdfs nut looks the same caliper.

They do make a front and rear specific IS calipers in XTR guise...part numbers BRM975FIS and BRM975RIS, plus BRM975FP post mount

Handy tip, if you use a rear caliper on the front you need a 20mm bigger disc ie 180mm instead of 160mm.
