Looking at buying some new elixirs but they only have fronts in stock is there any difference between the machined parts or is it just hose length?

Fronts always seize - it's the rule...

Rears always need more juice..., again rules.

Three pairs of Avid brakes, every single pair - front wooden, no lever action, rear, squeeze to the bars / pump to get any braking

Nope, no difference, although finding replacement hose for them is not so easy..

My Elixirs work OK; loads better than the Juicy's on my other bike.

No difference, I don't think between F&R. Any adjustment is symmetrical, so you can flip the levers.

You'll just need to lengthen the hoses & more than likely bleed.

put a 'front' elixir I bought on the rear as it came with a 1600mm hose, works fine!

Crc do some goodridge hose but it doesn't state what brakes there for I imagine each brake uses a different sized hose

sometimes one has a banjo and the other doesn't. well, that's how Merlin sold me some a few years ago.

No difference, both hopeless. Hilarious judder in cold weather and unbelievably noisy in wet weather. Almost impossible to bleed successfully. Apart from that there great. I've got a set on the floor in my garage doing what they do best. Nothing.

......On the other hand mine (elixir5) have given excellent faultless perfomance in all conditions for two years. Bleeding is a little more hassle than the (inferior performance-wise IMO) hopes they replaced but you'd have to be pretty mechanically inept not to be able do it succesfully 🙄

I've used elixirs for years and can't fault them, bleeding is fine once you have the hang of it, I only asked as I am thinking of buying some cr's and didn't know if there were an differences between the front and rear brakes or if it was just hose length.
Looks like its just hose length so I shall go and buy and hopefully all will be good cheers
