Firstly, apologies for yet another tyre thread, however……….
I need some new tyres for my nice bike. I’ve got no issues with the Conti’s and have always used them on my Defy but wondered if there was anything else worth looking at?

Probably, unless you're going to go tubeless or there are others that haven't yet been tested on that site.
I thought Schwalbe 'Ones' were the new thang.
What tyres do they put on those bikes on Zwift - they seem preety good - never slip even on the icy/snowy roads in the mountains.
Schwalbe One in a 25 or Veloflex Master for me. Both better than GP's IMO.
I use Michelin Pro 4 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/michelin-pro4-service-course-v2-road-bike-tyre/rp-prod134224 but TBH I'm probably not good enough to tell the difference between most performance oriented tyres.

I thought that too, but looking at the overview it would appear only the tubeless ones give any advantage - and then, a marginal one over contis with latex tubes.
There might be something somewhere to contradict this of course.

They ain't got enough G to be the new thang.
To be honest there are no bad choices now. I'm partial to vittoria, and like the new corsas. Schwalbe ones in 25c are another favourite.
G or tubeless aside, I much prefer my regular Schwalbe Ones to the sets of GP4000s I had previously. They roll beautifully, and cut up / puncture a lot less than the Contis used to, IME.
Bike discount are doing a pair for around £55 with two Conti tubes too.
Yes. They're fast, durable enough for my local roads, and quite reasonably priced too. For that they're my winter tyres 🙂
Race bikes now gets Specialized Turbo Cotton. The new Vittoria Corsa G+ may be worth a look if the marketing is to be believed.
Oh and whatever you choose, do the decent thing and run them with latex tubes.
I'm a big fan, good puncture resistance, wear well, fast and grippy enough for me in all weathers
How do the 'ones' come up on width?
I am considering 25's but struggling to fit GP conti 25mm in my rear end. If the wheel gets slightly out of true, the tyre rubs.

Try putting them on the bike instead 🙂
Ones are a small 25 IMO, certainly smaller than Pro4's which I struggled to fit in my frame.
Vittoria Corsa G+ are excellent in 25c
especially when pared with Latex tubes, makes the most of the tire's open tubular construction
GP4000II are longer lasting, but not as grippy/lively to ride
Gave my 25c Corsa G+ a workout this evening around Dunkerswell Mansell kart track. They were excellent. Never felt like I was losing traction or grip through the many tight bends. I went round tighter and faster than most. Couldn't catch The lead group, but that is engine not rubber.
them ones with graphene in.
graphene.
it add magic, or something.
(it does F-all in a bike tyre)
bontragers got some new ones out that are meant to be super fast, but a bit fragile.
I have been looking at tyres for the road bike lately, not sure what to choose (again) and not wealthy enough for the corsa G+, but I might try a Rubino G+ though on the front just to see if the graphine is as magical as claimed...
Thanks for all the reccomendations, plenty to have a look at! The Vittoria's look nice, but spendy though
I have just swapped from 23mm Schwalble Stelvios' to 28mm GP4000s on my road bike.
The increase in comfort is significant and they seem just as quick for me (I tend to ride audaxes rather than race).
They are pretty light for a 28mm and the article below convinced me to try them.

What are you basing that view on? Appreciate the marketing is a bit over the top, but it does seem to be testing well.

Schwalbe Pro Ones 25c are definitely wider than Conti GP4 season in 25c. They're both narrower than Mich Pro4s.
They're also much nicer tyres - noticeably smoother rolling at the same pressure, and they feel faster. Don't know if that's because of tubeless or better tyre design.

Student research projects on car tyres in our department. There's just not enough of it, and not enough energy generated. It's Good tyre design and marketing

Fair enough! They could claim there was fairy dust in it and I couldn't care less, if it tested well I'd still be interested.
A pair of Veloflex Open Corsas (£52 a pair from Ribble and now Wiggle) will transform your bike, once you've had these you won't want anything else. The grip is amazing and they make the bike feel incredibly "planted" as well as riding really smoothly. This and the pleasure of riding them definitely outweighs the shorter life and the light build.
fairy dust
now, there's a nobel prize in that stuff
I had a pair of Schwalble One's on a new bike last year and picked up a puncture on the first ride and another one 2 rides later. By contrast the GP4000s tyres on the old bike had done around 3k miles without a puncture. I binned the Schwalbe tyres and put the old tyres on the new bike - no punctures in the year since.
I'm currently running the new 25c Vittoria Rubino G+ on my Bish Bash Bosh as the fast tyre option. they're actually very good, wet grip is good, braking is good and so far no holes in them. Previous choice was Hutchinson Fusion 5's on the road bike and Ones before that.
