Well I'm enthusiastic enough to start the thread even if no one else is!Â
Bagged my preferred entry to the Sport, not fussed about the competition on the Saturday. Done Ardrock plenty of times now, but missed it last year as we were on family holiday instead, so looking forward to going back.Â
Got a pod at the YHA as well. It might sound miserable and antisocial to not get too involved in the after party stuff, but I enjoy my couple of days solo up at Ardrock each year, usually meet and chat to a few randoms, do plenty of people watching, bit of bike on car roof and OTT campervan spotting from the outside of the pub at Grinton. It's great!
Although this time I am actually hoping the wife and child might join me, I reckon the little one will like seeing me rattle clumsily down hecklers wood! That's weather dependant though, they're not going to enjoy sitting about In the pissing rain, needs to be a sunny one.
Doing the Epic with my son, it's my favourite having done all entry combos over the years. Best trail conditions, least competitive and no need to stay over as it starts a little later in the day. Daughter doing Sport with a friend, staying at YHA, might return on Sunday to heckle her.
I'm doing the Epic again with a mate. Doing it on Friday feels nicer as it's a fairly late start and then I can enjoy a beer and the event afterwards. From spectating on other days the Friday is a lot more relaxed without the really completive people mixing with beginners.
