I seem to have 2 different pairinf options for the Snap in the Power Source and Controllable Trainer boxes.
Either WAHOO FE-C 20160" or "KICKR SNAP 20160"
Both connected to PC via ANT+ dongle, just one option gives FE-C.
Interestingly I am only able to do a spin down within Zwift if Power and Cont.Trainer are both paired as FE-C. (I know I can do this within Wahoo utilities anyway, just want to make sure I am choosing right pairing option for Zwift/ Snap.
Lastly, Zwift doesnt always find the FE-C option at all. It finds it more often for Power Source but rarely for Cont. Trailer.
First world issue I know but Im slightly perplexed. lol
Wahoo does say this, but doesnt state if its for just the Kickr or the Snap also:
Ensure you are not pairing the FEC version of the KICKR. On the Zwift pairing screen, make sure to choose the KICKR without FEC in the list of available trainers.
Any info appreciated as always. 🙂
I always use the FEC, i thought that was the controllable version. Mine always finds it automatically on startup. If i remove it, it also always finds it.
Hmmmm...
Is yours the Snap then Weeksy?
The turbo is still controlled fine when connected as a " Kickr Snap 20160" as is power from what I can make out?
I only had my curiosity peeked when I was messing around and it decided to give me the option to pair as "Wahoo FEC 20160".
Then I suddenly had the option to spin down from within Zwift.

I've shot off an email to Wahoo to clarify whether it's just the Kickr, or both versions, that shouldn't be connected as FEC to Zwift.
I'll be very curious to know your answers matey.
I'll do a screenshot of mine later when i jump on for a gentle one. Mine is a Snap yes.
Cheers, that would be great!
I'll post up whatever Wahoo reply with.
Mine really doesn't like being connected to Zwift as FEC so I'm hoping its ment to be the other type of connection. 🙂

Thanks Weeksy!
I'm guessing that the numbers after the "FEC" are perhaps specific to the Snap you have our the single itself?
If not, could the number denote a slight different revision of Snap?
Interesting!
EDIT: I've just linked to this thread in the correspondence I've opened with Wahoo.... So hopefully we will find out what's going on.:-)
An update Weeksy,
Wahoo seems to confirm it should run in FEC.
So I need to work out why mine won't. Lol
Odd thing is, it seems to function just fine. That a noob to trainers like me can see anyway. Resistance is controlled fine etc. Certainly not running as a dumb trainer. Odd.
Only thing I notice is that Zwift loses the "spanner" icon to allow a Zwift controlled spin down...
I'm not familiar with ANT+ really but my understanding is that without FEC Zwift shouldn't actually be able to control Zwift?
Control the trainer I meant. 😀
Never seen this spanner ?
It's on the picture you posted on here buddy, next to "power source, unpair".
Tiny little orange icon, easy to miss! 🙂
