hi, looking at switching my canyon nerve over to 2x10 and a bash guard and chain guide from the current 3x10 set up.
I was just wondering if anyone is already using this set up, and if the chain guide fitted ok and which guide you used? See, i looked on the canyon website and it says the nerve am comes with iscg 05 mounts as standard, but according to Cullen over at Canyon UK this:
http://www.canyon.com/_uk/shop/?category=F01&item=27165
is the only chain guide which will work with my frame?
Anyone got any advice?
Old thread I know but this may be useful to Nerve AM owners. Recently converted my 2012 AM 7.0 to 1x10. Although Canyon sells this bike as ISCG 05 standard in actual fact it is only compatible with ISCG 05 when you use a special adaptor plate (only sold by Canyon ) Mine didn't come with this plate so I only found out I couldn't fit the chainguide I purchased after trying to fit it - unsuccessfully. I phoned Canyon and they eventually agreed to send me a plate and the three bolts required (also sold seperately!) FOC after I complained that the website seems to indicate ISCG compatibility as standard on this model. After removing the granny and big chainrings and then grinding the granny tabs a little bit it all fitted perfectly. First ride yesterday and no problems. I also fitted a bashguard as you can see in the photos. My chainguide is a superstar plasma and works fine - no need to buy the Canyon guide from Germany.

Looks good, I'm hoping to pick one up in the sales in September. I thought the lower linkage position was the reason some chain devices don't fit but maybe that isn't the case. I was planning on using a Bionicon c.guide with it which is double and triple compatible.
Off topic but how are you getting on with the Magura MT2 brakes?
Thanks, the lower linkage didn't cause a problem with the superstar guide, so it worked fine for me. The MT2s are fine (the levers are MT4 on mine) but I have had to bleed the front brake. It was a bit squishy after a month or so - seems fine now. Also the front pads supplied with the bike wore out after just 4 muddy rides!!! I now have kevlar pads from superstar again, they seem to be holding up much better.
Good to know about the SSC guide for future reference. I think the MT2 come with MT4 levers even after market and my none Magura brakes needed bleeding from new too but good to know you're happy with them other than that.
