Looking to go 2 x 9 on my xc bike and just wondered whether anyone has achieved this or have they been shot down in flames by the big Esses?

Ive used a 9spd chainset on a 10spd with no problems so I assume the reverse is possible...

ive swapped the 9 spd slx cranks off my P7 with the 10 spd deore cranks off my cube, both work fine, no problems at all.

Running a 10 speed RaceFace chainset on a 9 speed mech/shifter/chain/cassette set-up & its fine. The chainset rings state 10 speed only.
