Really got my eye on a Turner Sultan

It's 120mm in normal guise but is anyone running one at 140mm travel?
It does seem a bit OTT for riding the South Downs with ocassional forays to Peak District and Yorkshire Dales

Have been riding rigid 29er for years so any sort of travel is going to seem OTT though.

Alternative is a Pivot Mach 429 but Turner appeals.

i would have thought that 120mm on a 29er is fairly similar to 140mm on a 26er, so why would you want more?

a Turner 29er with 120mm travel sounds like heaven on a alloy stick.

120mm on a Sultan is plenty for most everything. You'll be fine. After a rigid it will feel mahoosive and all monster truck for you.

Sultan with 120mm Reba RLs here - love it - most versatile bike I have owned.

Sultan with Revelation 140, works really well with a little extra travel out front and still climbs superbly.
