...which I could borrow/hire/donate-funds-to-charity for a few days in early June?

Off to the Pyrenees for a few days next month with the road bike (flying to Toulouse). Carbon f&f and expensive wheels means I'm reluctant to trust the baggage handlers with just a padded bag for protection...

Can anyone help?

Chas.

Can't help with the flight case I'm afraid, but you can make a normal bike bag much better by cutting down a cardboard bike box and sticking it inside.

Cardbaord box free from any bike shop works well. You can put one box inside another if you are worried. Just make sure it is packed well (rear mech removed, wheel spacers in frame and forks, etc)

Free from a bike shop? You should at least buy them cake as a gesture of goodwill!

Might be worth asking the lovely folks over at www.spambiking.co.uk/ as well, one of them may have a hard case.
