The Carbon thingy what are you thoughts? any good or waste of money

You using carbon to protect alloy?
Just get a carbon frame. You won't need to use a protector btw.

Its for my pitch. and really want to be protecting the hose/cables me thinks, but if it stops the odd dent then good i guess!

You would need to drill it and washer it to sit on the outside of the cables. It makes sense to protect them from splitting.
