ended up getting a Zesty 514. Still in the process of getting to know it though so a bit soon to pass comment other than it looks lovely 🙂

That is a bit of a daft thing to say: Ride harder and bigger stuff then.

More to the point: Is it too much bike for you? Don't bring the country into it.

Sam are you the guy who went out in the morning and the afternoon, did you strech the budget i thought you had you mind set on the 314..... Mikey74 i didn't mean it like that,i just found my 04 heckler better on the climbs and not that much slower downhill, just think the spicy is an all day bike and not sure if the zesty would be to much for all day rides

Fair enough: All I know is I test rode a Spicy last year and was out on it for 6 hours and it felt fine. I din't end up buying one because the spec I wanted was too pricey and ended buying a frame and fork deal (Banshee Rune), but I would have happily ridden it all day and it had the added bonus of being a strong play/session/dh bike as well.

Yeah that was me, I sent the next few days with a calculator seeing if I could upgrade or not, turns out I could so I did. PS the afternoon was sunny.

Where have Lapierre been all my life? The name alone conjours up images of Gallic smoothness and nose in the air superiority.....and the bikes are bloody lovely. I'm very happy with my Blur but if was changing I'd be getting one.

First I'd heard of them was they started appearing in the mags and Evans stocked up on them. What happened, did they just hear about an island called Britain? Any other continental uber brands we don't get to play with?

There are plenty of brands here in Switzerland you're unlikely to have heard of...
Stoke?
Racer?
Stöckli?
Canyon?
Atala?

Whether they're any good or not is another matter... 🙂

We seem to be seeing a few new names appearing from the continent. It's not that long ago that no one had heard of Commencal (as a brand). Now we have folk like LaPierre, Cube and Focus.
