Did bingley bash + hills over oxenhope & we dropped down through wilsden to fit in a bit of cheeky singletrack.

We really enjoyed it.

Not too icy Oxnop? Walked down to Saltaire for the van and nearly went down a few times!

I'm thinking Ilkley moor might be good?

Cheers Simon but i live pretty much in the middle of the Bingley Bash so i'm looking to get somewhere different while i've the time.

This isn't a complaint, i think i'm bloody lucky to live where i do, the local stuff is superb, when i'm not riding i'm out trimming back trees or creating new lines so i never get bored. But as its icy i'll be avoiding the techy stuff..

Yep it was icy but nothing we couldn't ride on- both myself and the GF enjoyed it more than normal- Harden moor was ace BTW.

We were going to go over hebden/tod way but glad we stayed local.

If you do choose a ride further away tomorrow I'd be interested in where you go/conditions as we need to plan a ride for Sunday.

The Addingham/Skipton/Rylstone/Bolton Abbey area looked ok snow wise today. Ice maybe an issue though. Wouldn't bother further west due to depth of snow. The walled tracks are icy but once away from these the depth of snow is the problem.
SFB Sunday: The open fell above Crummackdale & Thieves Moss is too deep and crusted to ride. Tried GBH yesterday but gave up - wasn't worth the effort. Also a few inches fell overnight. Walking on Great Whernside today with snow depth from 3" to 2ft (old money).

Anywhere high up has lots of ice and snow.

Stick to lower down I'd say....

If there's an offer for a ride in the Holme Valley, we'd like to take you up on the offer. We were thinking of going riding tomorrow if thats not too soon.

Its nice and frosty in Leeds at present, so been able to have some fun un the usually muddy routes.

On Wednesday we went from Ramsgill up to Scarhouse Reservoir. From Middlesmoor it was un rideable due to the depth of snow.
We pushed up to Scarhouse and returned on the road.
I can't see it being any different now.
Good excuse for some photos.

Road after Middlesmoor was OK where the snow plough had been.
[img] [/img]

Further up the snow was up to the top of the walls, was hard enough to walk on but not to ride.
[img] [/img]
We were able to walk straight over this gate.

Anyway in answer to the original question I've no idea where would be good to go tomorrow.

been riding yeadon, otley, ilkley, askwith, pool, panal, arthington and back to yeadon via otley and guiseley for the last week. All on the road and no incidents yet just ****ing cold. The snow around the washburn valley seems to have just about gone so may be ok. Just the usual mud to contend with.

I'm the same speed as whoever I'm riding with, ignore ton!

We can meet in the middle of Holmfirth, tell me how long you want to ride for and I'll piece a route together.

That'd be fine. I've sent you an e-mail. Forgot to ask, will there be just you or a group? It influences how long the ride will be!

Ton- I said to Chew that I can do a ride on Sunday morning. If you're here for 9am then we can do 4 hours or so of good stuff.

Then we're having a family photo taken, which will be a trial...

Taka, we had a cracking day. nice firm base with a layer of fresh snow, for a tenner it's well worth a trip up. Should be fine tomorrow, there was plenty of snow left and looks like more coming in tonight. Andy said since Christmas, they've only been closed boxing day and the day after- every other day they've been open

http://www.mountainboarding.co.uk/ski/index.htm

Give Andy the owner a call on the numbers on the website if you need more up to date info - he's pretty sound about telling you the honest conditions

Tony, we did the snowy ride on new year's eve up over Robin Hoods Picking Rods, couple of snow drifts to push though and a couple of squeaky bum moments with two-wheel drifts on the ice ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Luke, nice ride. Not exactly snow free...but fun!

In fact considering the radio said Snake Pass and Woodhead were both closed then Holmfirth was probably the wrong place to ride.

Nbt, that looks superb, i'm only in Wilsden, might check it out tomorrow.

You a boarder then Taka? Harder for boarders to get the hang of it. Hurts your hands after a while too, by 3pm I was struggling to hold on to the rope
