Heading down there in September.
We are too late for the lifts at Ax les Thermes and Andorra so its pedal power only!
We are staying 5km North of Foix and the area shows 10 VTT routes. In the past I have found the VTT stuff a little hit and miss so wondered if anybody has been?
If not have you been anywhere near?
Only on the road for the 2007 Etape....
Beautiful part of the world, though. Enjoy..!
Have ridden around Quillan, not too far from Foix some excellent stuff round there. Some of the vtt routes are good, especially the stuff going out toward Nebias.
Have also ridden near Lac Montbel, riding here seemed a bit crap. The longer routes were big climbs and poor descents.
There is some biggish hills arount Montsegur and I think there is some stuff there.
Try http://www.utagawavtt.com/ and search under Arieage there seems to be a few things not far from Foix.
Not ridden - but previously posted some links/info here

know exactly what you mean about the hit and miss - have experienced it in Vosges
I think we are quite lucky with the riding in the UK.
As usual local knowledge is key. Slogging uphill for hours needs big rewards..
I'll check out those links. Thankyou.
