[#2893863]

Sorry for the noob question but I'm an Aussie!
Done south Wales to death and I'm now keen on exploring east.
Are there any reasonable length routes in the FOD - like ~ 20kms.
Ive searched for gpx files but can't find anything of reasonable length.
I'm looking for red/black type singletrack not DH.
Anybody able to share some with me?
my email is ed.baddour@hotmail.com
Many thanks in advance.

a six fingered local should be able to show you the less travelled paths

what does that mean?
I've looked at the fod website which only had the short family trail.
I'm looking for proper singletrack. I like to do 20 - 40 kms rides. My fav local ride is the W2 at Afan.
Anything of similar length even if its not waymarked?
Thanks for the gpx routes offer.

Any chance you could email me your GPX routes? I have cycled the groomed trails in the FOD with my children but would love to see a bit more of it.

Hugor,

Where are you based? If you want more routes around Gloucester have a look at the Bigfoot MBC website; it should give you some more ideas.

To a great extent you are after something that the Forest doesn't do. There are now 2 xc trails although one is yet to be marked and its meant to be a blue! Other than that its find your own. Thankfully the place has yet to become a maze of planned trails.
Just turn up, ask a few people and you will have a great time. Just go along a npath that looks fun. You just can'r get lost. The whole are is crossed by plenty of roads and you just consider where you are with reference to the central Xroads at Cannop.

Oh yeah. GPS isn't perfect here. Trees, rain and valleys are not perfect conditions for a GPS. They do work but not 100%

As someone who was born and lives in the area, I find comments like the one above quit offensive. But sure, come and ride our trails and take the piss out of us, thanks.
