Seen a Joes no flats tubeless kit on CRC for £20, with enough for both wheels, but obviously it's a Presta kit. Is there any way to convert my XC717 Schraeder rim and still be able to run Presta tubeless?
not in my experience
tried running Stans with Mavic rim adapter plug (plastic piece) but found it leaked around the valve hole when using a presta rim strip in a rim drilled for schraeder
if the valve is part of the rim strip (like some stans) then it should work Shirley?
Good point Al. I'll just need to make sure I file it smooth. Will try it I think and see how I get on.
I've got Stans rim strip on an older Mavic 317(?) which was shraeder tubed with no issue.
I've got some XM719 rims drilled for schraeder valves with the Mavic plastic reducer in to use presta tubes. I'm using the rims tubeless with DT Swiss rimstips and separate Presta valves with no issues.
in fact stans tell you to drill any presta hole out if you are using the rim strip.

Only one of the two walls of the rim - not all the way through.
I reckon you could use a rimstrip without difficulties. Most of them are Presta but there's nothing to stop you making a schraeder rimstrip if you wanted (20" BMX inner tube cut down its length).
Just sorted a friend out with a stans kit on a Schrader 717. Still needed to drill the inner rim and left the plastic spacer in the outer. It's worked perfectly.
