I have just bought a second hand Intense Tracer frame with RP23. The frame has had a fair bit of use so I am concerned that the shock may not be in perfect nic. I have done an air can service - cleaned and added new oil, but seals looked fine to me (although I'm no expert).
How can I tell if the damper is performing properly? The issue is that I have no frame of reference - my previous bike was a 120mm Fuel so will feel entirely different. Having never even ridden a 150mm bike let alone a Tracer I have no idea how it is supposed to perform and so probably won't detect any issues with the shock unless they are pretty major!
Is there any kind of visual inspection that can help on the shock internals or would I need to send it to be serviced?
Cheers!
Nope, set it up roughly and see if making changes to propedal and rebound damping makes a difference.
