I feel a bout of upgradeitis coming on and am hoping I can 'cure' it by limiting myself to a new stem and bars on my road bike.
(The bar tape needs redoing anyway, so why not?)
Cheap, light, strong and sexy - pick all four.
Must be carbon, pref matt not shiny and pref black/white (nothing gaudy)
Bars: 44cm
Stem: 110mm
ribble seems best for price - just bought a Deda Zero100 bar and stem, cheaper than anywhere else I found.
Not carbon, but black and white 🙂
I got a white EC70 aero bar for £65 off Merlin recently.
Not fitted yet so can't vouch for comfort, but price was right.
Ah.... for reasons I don't understand myself I won't have any Easton stuff on any of my bikes.
I really don't know why. I've never had any, never seen any fail etc etc. I just have an irrational dislike of the brand.
Ritchey evocurve WCS bar and C260 stem of bike-discount.de, came to a bit under £100.
I'm going back to alu from carbon as I've no faith in them on the road bike, no idea why, it's not like i crash on the road, and i use them off-road, but the pro's use alu, its cheep, it's only ~30g heavier, so I'm going with that.
