[Closed] Any Shimano 1+ with hydraulic brakes for drops?

I’m thinking of upgrading my cx bike for the winter.  I like the idea of 1+ 11 for a cx bike, but I have never liked SRAM brakes on the mountain bike, always getting on better with Shimano.

Is is there any sign of Shimano bringing out a 1+ drive train in 105, or at least compatible with 105 hydraulic brakes and shifters?

SRAM rival looks good, but I have never been a fan of their brakes.  Not that they aren’t good, I just prefer the Shimano feel!

Having got the 105 hydro's I'm not sure they remind me of the MTB stuff, I think people have said similar of the SRAM road stuff so worth considering perhaps.

Just fit the Shimano group set of your choice. Replace the cranks if you want dedicated 1x types and accept the fact you've an overly-complex rear brake lever.

They’ve released an Ultegra mech with a clutch, but other than that, you have to make it yourself.

Although a previous Shimano fan I hired a bike with SRAM Force 1x a few weeks ago and it would be my preferred choice when I eventually go to 11 and hydraulic.

I can confirm that (at least the 105) Shimano hydros are very similar to the MTB brakes. In that mine is just about to get sent off to warranty a leaky caliper.

Set up a new gravel bike with Ultegra hydro levers/Hope callipers,Ultegra crank with Absolute Black oval ring and Ultegra RX clutch mech.

Works very well! Smooth and quiet!

I would guess Shimano will move the clutch mech across to the other road groupsets in the next year or two.

Your alternative is a wolftooth tanpan to let you run a MTB rear mech for a bigger cassette. Thats what I have- works a treat and a lot cheaper than di2!

Would a bar end changer work then you can have matching hydro levers?

I use a set of TRP Hylex's and a standard xt/slx mix on the drivetrain.

Shifting via slx  trigger on the flats mounted via a 31.8 front mech mount and cut down shifter.

I am running a 11-40 XTR cassette with the Ultegra RX mech.

Works great with no extra bits needed!

Very long cage!

Ultegra hydro levers/Hope callipers

Are you not setting yourself up for seal failure?  Hope are DOT fluid not mineral oil.

Edit:  Just noticed, Hope are making road callipers with different seal sets to accommodate Shimano levers rather than forcing everyone to SRAM levers.
