Anyone know of any deals on 9 speed cassettes now that the 10 speed stuff is out? Think I am after a 34-11t.

Thanks for any help

Top tip - what other costs are involved apart from exchange rate?

None, about €6 shipping.

I have to say though, I think XTR cassettes are far and away the least worthwhile part of the groupset. I'd not bother unless you're properly top spec elsewhere.

My current xtr cassette is on it's 4th season and has still not given me bother. My front rings are like ninja stars and v weak so probably going to replace it all with the same as it has lasted so well.

Probably can not get away with just doing front rings as the chain checker falls through the worn chain so everything is well bedded in... Would rather buy once and hope for the same lifespan with everything feeling lovely again.

Fair enough. No reason for XT not to last as long - the ti sprockets on XTR are softer and more prone to wear.

The sole advantage of XTR is in the weight.

I thought that when I got it but for some reason the drivetrain has way outlasted the xt I have on another bike which is used much less. I never thought it would work that way. Both are washed and oiled just about every use. Both run duraace chains etc. Maybe I use the other bike in the mud more.

The prices on Actionsports are seriously sporty - must not buy other stuff I can not afford! 😆

I think they're very good. I bought 64 Revolution spokes from them at less than trade in the UK and they sent me 10 spares FOC.

I agree, the XTR cassette is very expensive and yes it is very light but I think the XT cassette is almost as good, much cheaper and will be more robust.

Or XX/XG999, which is lighter and more durable than both. Also double the price of XTR mind...

I may cave in to common sense on the 30g difference. 😆
