Hello all, Dumb question of the day is: If I’m changing from 2 x10 chainset to 2 x 11 will I have to replace the front mech as well for clearance purposes?

Cheers

That's what I thought but you never know in the land of MTB. I'll thread the chain through later and see what happens 🙂

You don't have to change the chainset, that is unless you really want to.

edit: stupid me read OP wrong.

Check the chainrings as they are designed for certain rings. eg 9 speed XT was designed for 22-32-44 but 10 speed had a slightly different profile for 24-32-42. and they later switched to 22-30-40 which might just be a case of drop the FD down a bit or could be a new profile again.

It should work but might just be a bit more clunky if the rings are the wrong sizes.
