Sorry about these threads, decided I want a full suss frame, trying to do it on the cheap, 2nd hand, without being able to try out the sizes first.
I am 5ft10, stocky build, ridden BMX all my life, so am used to small bikes.
I am after a tough susser frame, suitable for 140mm forks. It has to feel quite nimble, as that's what my BMX adapted body prefers. After all, how everything feels is relative to what you're used to.
The bike will be used for playing and 3+ hour rides in the peaks.
It must have chain guide tabs, full length seat tube.
The effective tt on my current bike 23.25" tt. it is definitely too long for me. In the saddle, im stretching for the bars, out the saddle, my body position is too far forward, resulting in knees close to the stem.
Found a pitch pro frame at an OK price, it's a small, 22.25" eff tt. What's the range of adjustment of seat post on these frames?
I dont want to change stem length, I really like the feel of my current 67*HA with 50mm stem. So i won't make adjustments there. Layback seat post won't be the answer either as i will not be able to get the seat as low as possible.
Hit the button on the small or hold out for a medium?
Sorry for the long windedness, thanks, Dean.
I'm 5.7 ish and ride a small, also had a medium. Think you would need med imo
I'm a smidge under 6 and im selling my medium pitch because it feels small on climbs and long rides. Downhill it comes into it's own and its very chuckable but for all day riding it's to small for me.
that's why i love the bottlerocket. like bmx off road ๐
My Pitch is Small and I am 5'11"
I ride it all day and use it as a mini DH bike too. It is my favourite bike, so much so I had it powder-coated and hung some TALAS36RC2s, Hope/Stans and full XT off it.
Get a small, mate had a medium (with 50mm stem) and it was slightly too long for me. I'm 5'11" and like short bikes. climbing comfort is over rated! ๐
layback seatpost will work so long as you don't buy one of those stupid Thomson ones. but a scoper might be needed if you want to be able to have the saddle both slammable and full climbing height.
