In the process of sorting all the bits out for my Nukeproof Scout 275 build and want to order some tyres.

On my Mega I've had the On-One Chunky Monkey/Smorgasbord combo in dual compound 26" flavour which I thought was a pretty good all round tyre (don't want to be swapping tyres every few weeks for changing conditions) and have performed well in most scenarios.

I've recently swapped them to a Magic Mary (trail star snake skin)/Nobby Nic (pace star lite skin) combo which to be honest I haven't ridden much due to weather and a massive case of can't be arsed...

So on the Scout do I go for the slightly draggy but grippy all round combo of the On-Ones which I have extensive experience with or my relatively untried (by me) Schwalbe combo?

Both work out roughly the same price.

If you can't be bothered to have an opinion of the tyres you already own, what makes you think that anyone here might care?

Get your bike out and try them.

Depends if you’re planning to ride much before conditions improve. The Mary is a bit of a beast and some find it hard work when a tyre that excels at slippy, muddy isn’t needed.  If you really want to fit tyres now and still don’t know about your recent purchase, I’d maybe play safe with a known combo like a pair of snakeskin Dampfs (TS front/PS rear). They’re a good all round solution that’ll handle anything reasonably well although there are plenty of slightly better tyres for particular conditions.  Like all Schwalbes they do seem to lose their edge knobs relatively quickly though if you get the bike down in corners a lot.  High Rollers if appropriately chosen are another safe all round bet.
