A mate in Hexham has just had his bikes nicked from his shed.
I'm not sure of the full specs, but they include:

Genesis iO - brown with white forks
Giant Anthem - Carbon frame I think
Giant Defy 4 (brand new)

the Genesis and Giants are 20"-ish size

Also gone is his wife's Specialized Rockhopper.

I'll try and get more details and photos off him asap

That's worrying.

Any details of what sort of shed security they got through?

All i know is that it was a brand new wooden shed. I don't know about what kind of locks/closures/security were fitted.

And to make things worse, his house insurance doesn't cover the bikes, so would be really good to get them back.

Bike theft in the Tyne valley is on the up it seems ๐Ÿ™

Bike theft in the Tyne valley is on the up it seems

There does seem to have been a recent spate of thefts. I wonder why?

Are the local scrotes just catching on to how much bikes are worth?
Or is there a sinister Mr Big fencing these bikes for them?

Is that Finlay's dad? He'll be devastated. I can loan a bike if he wants - you may see him before I do?

When the police came round to mine on saturday morning they hinted that they could have staff permanently looking for bikes such has the rise in thefts been noticed in the NE, mine went from my garage (Gateshead) last weekend.

Will keep my eyes open around County Durham. Just a quick note, I have been followed back from Chopwell and Hamsterly and Dalby by cars obviously wanting to know where I live. Mainly when I've had mates expensive bikes on the racks. Never leave bike racks on the car, that is like saying my bikes are in the garage ready and waiting.

bastards... I'm surprised crime has made it to Hexham.

My ex bro in law was a cop up there years ago. Sheep rustling was rife in the 1980's.
But It's bad when you think your pride & joy is safe & the shitebags still call in. ๐Ÿ™„
