'If you're not breaking stuff you're not riding hard enough'
Built it up 2 months ago, it's been to BPW 3 times, FOD once, Tidworth a couple times, done Mega and Morzine and a fair bit of local riding. Took it in to the shop for a true up (I can build wheels and true minor buckles but when it's well out of shape I leave it to the pros!) and when I went to collect it turns out it's buggered. Nice ding which has caused a bulge next to it and rim that won't go back into shape.
Not that bothered (well, bothered about spending the money) as they've taken a good battering, most of my mates run them with no issues and I have a set on the HT which are still perfect. Actually quite satisfied I broke something as strong as that. Slightly annoyed the EX511 isn't out yet or I'd have got one of those admittedly.
So am I the first on here to pringle one?
They are a lot tougher than flows/enduros imho, but not indestructible.
Mine are still running straight and true after a fair amount of abuse: weekly rides at bringewood/Bucknell/etc, trips to bpw/stiniog/revs, Megavalanche, morzine, ardrock.
