I'd like to fit an Alfine hub to my Soloist.

What bits do I need to get other than the obvious hub and shifter?

Thanks in advance for any help

Cheers

Ken

You might need to remove the guard and flip the cog to get the chainline right though.

have a look at on-one for cheapy Alfine hubs although they're out of sprockets and fitting kits...

My guard seems to be very good at clooging with shite, so might be worth discarding. Obviously you need one of these as well:

CRC have them, for only £4 more, with all the other bits. You will need a specific shifter, too.

But you mention shifter in the OP, so I'll just naff off now.

Spokes, nipples and a rim might help too! 😉

When it comes to the cog, if you can, order a Shimano Nexus one rather than the Alfine one. It doesn't have the plastic guard fitted, which means it's less susceptible to clogging with mud!

If you are not running splined discs, you'll need a rear one or a splined to 6 bolt adaptor (a mate couldn't get the mavic adaptor to work).
