Anyone find it doesn't give them enough gearing at all? Sorry if it's a daft question but usually sit in the big ring for commuting presently and wonder if an Alfine will give me the equivalent.

use mine for commuting, i do spin out occasionally, but only downhill
was up to 27mph today on the flat and still a bit left, so i dont find it a problem

I find it Ok in hilly edinburgh. Mine is set a bit low - I hardly use the bottom gear but do spin out down leith street

Should do the job then. Commute is only 5.5-7.5 miles each way depending on route. with only one hill each route.

i only spin out occasionally, and still need the lower gears for a couple of steep ups on my commute

I run 36/18, used to run thr same ratio as 32/16 but it gets a bit cluttered at the rear end. I find it ok for most hills and just about spin out on the 11ml commute into Leeds.
